New Ulm Police

• A 42-year-old New Ulm woman reported at 5:17 p.m. Thursday a package theft from her front steps. A package valued at $148 was sent by Target via UPS. Contents included an Expresso coffee maker, two coffee pods, a makeup case and book. A report was sent to investigators to get a suspect photo from Ring Doorbell Co.

• Responded to a domestic call at 204 1/2 Minnesota St. N. at 2 a.m. Friday. A 21-year-old New Ulm female seeks an OFP (Order For Protection) from a 24-year-old New Ulm male. Nobody was hurt, no damage reported.

• Three bicycles valued at $1,250 were reported stolen Wednesday or Thursday at 10:51 a.m. Friday from near Center and Front St. Stolen bikes included a blue Schwinn Racer, blue Schwinn Super Stock and red/grey Trek Vintage. A report was done for documentation.

• A 40-year-old New Ulm woman reported identification theft after she received a scam/fraud Minnesota Unemployment Insurance letter that falsely read that she worked two jobs instead of one. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with suspected minor injuries at 5th Street North and Garden Street at 5:45 p.m. Friday. A 2021 Ford Explorer driven by Jana Neid, 65, Sleepy Eye, was westbound on 5th North Street, stopped for traffic at Garden Street when a 2009 Volkswagon Jetta driven by Dayle Besemer, 83, New Ulm, collided with the Ford. Damage was severe to the rear end of the Ford and severe to the front end of the Volkswagon. Both drivers wore seat belts but had suspected minor injuries.

Sleepy Eye Police

• Responded to a disturbance call at 12:31 a.m. Saturday at 114 Elm Street N.E., arrested and transported a Sleepy Eye man to the Brown County Jail for 5th-degree assault. No medical attention was sought. A report will be sent to the Sleepy Eye City Attorney’s Office.
