Minnesota State Patrol
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash report with injuries at TH 15 and CR 5 (Fort Road), Lafayette Township at 2:58 p.m. Aug. 20. A 2004 Jeep Liberty driven by a 16-year-old male was eastbound on CR 5 when it collided with a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Derek R. Rueckert, 46, Andover. Air bags deployed in both vehicles. Both drivers and three passengers all had non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol was not involved. The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette EMS/First Responders and Allina Emergency Medical Services assisted.
Redwood County Sheriff’s Office
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:43 p.m. Aug. 17 at CSAH 4 and 10, Redwood County. A 2010 Peterbilt was southbound on CSAH 10 by Mitchell M. Krause, 63, Veta, when it was hit on the driver’s side back of the trailer by a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven westbound on CSAH 4 by a 17-year-old. The teenager was transported to a Tracy hospital with suspected minor injuries. Krause had no apparent injuries.
New Ulm Police
• Arrested a 47-year-old homeless man outside Kwik Trip, 1621 N. Broadway at 1:51 a.m. Aug. 19 on a Brown County Apprehension and Detention Order on a probation violation. The man was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was sent to Brown County Probation.
• Responded to a disturbance call at 5:45 a.m. Aug. 20 on the 200 block, Franklin St. S. A 24-year-old New Ulm man was determined to be suffering the effect of ingesting 3.5 to 4 grams of psychedelic drugs. He had cuts from rolling in broken glass. The man was transported to New Ulm Medical Center. A report was sent to investigators.
• Responded to a report of a person killing turtles near the Minnecon Park boat landing at 11:01 a.m. Aug. 20. Officers found turtle eggs that appeared to be freshly smashed by rocks and a dead adult snapping turtle nearby. A report was sent to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
• Received a report at 3:34 p.m. Aug. 21 of two vehicle tires valued at $700 stolen overnight from a vehicle outside New Ulm Body Shop & Glass, 1826 State St. N. A report was done for documentation.
• Received an harassment report at 1:12 p.m. Aug. 22 at 2201 N. Broadway. A 24-year-old New Ulm man working for Ecowater Systems said a 39-year-old New Ulm man verbally threatened him. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
