Sheriff’s Office

• Received a theft report of a North Star 20-ton wood splitter in Alfsborg Township at 4:53 p.m. April 28, 2022. It is believed the wood splitter was taken early in the morning of April 28. Anyone with information on the theft or other recent thefts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 507-237-4330.

• Responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash in Washington Lake Township near 180th Street and 331st Avenue, six miles east of Green Isle at 7:50 p.m. May 2, 2022. Hunter Wilkinson, 26, Belle Plaine, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix when he swerved to avoid a deer, lost control on loose gravel and overturned. No injuries were reported. The Hamburg Fire Department assisted the sheriff’s office with the crash.

New Ulm Police

• Received a theft report at 10:10 a.m. May 3 of an undisclosed amount of a vehicle entered and gas siphoned at Royal Tire, 1604 Westridge Road. No more information was available.

• Received a two-vehicle crash report at 5:39 p.m. May 3 at Walmart Supercenter, 1720 Westridge Road. Meghann J. Simon, 31, Sleepy Eye was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe when she pulled forward and tried to turn right, around a parked 2002 Olds Alero and hit the front end of it. Damage was moderate to the front of the Olds and minor to the right side of the Tahoe.
