New Ulm Police
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 9th North and German Street at 8:48 a.m. Feb. 6. A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Kyle J. Rewitzer, 38, New Ulm, was southbound on German St. when a 2005 Ford Freestar westbound on 9th North, driven by Carol M. Winter, 58, attempted to turn left, southbound onto German street and collided in the intersection in snow-packed conditions. Damage was moderate to the front end of the Pontiac and moderate to the driver’s side and front end of the Ford.
• Received a theft report at 7:52 a.m. Feb. 7 from a Lincoln Lane resident who said they saw envelopes from a locked mailbox, addressed to area businesses, ripped open and checks removed. Reports were done for documentation.
• Stopped a 44-year-old New Ulm man for driving after his license was cancelled-inimical to public safety at Broadway and 7th North at 12:34 p.m., Feb. 7. Vehicle license plates were replaced with a temporary license.
• Received a scam/fraud report at 9:05 p.m. Feb. 5 from Freedom Value Center, 627 Minnesota St. N. A caller asked for credit card information before a hand sanitizer shipment would be delivered. The manager refused to provide any information. Police said a similar call was received at the Running’s store and no credit card information was provided. Police continue to investigate the calls.
• Received a report of a possible OFP (Order for Protection) violation at 9:45 a.m. Feb. 6. The caller said a 30-year-old New Ulm man texted the alleged victim using the TextNow app from the Brown County Jail. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Received a one-vehicle crash report at 1:51 p.m. Feb. 6 on snow and ice on TH 4 at 630th Avenue, Cairo Township, Renville County. A 2004 Chevy Tahoe driven by Theresa L. Fink, 53, Hector, was northbound on TH 4 when she left the road and rolled in the east ditch. She wore a seat belt and alcohol was not involved. She was transported to an Olivia hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Fairfax Police, Fire and Ambulance assisted.
• Received a one-vehicle crash report at 6:17 a.m. Feb. 6 on TH 4, north of Hector, Brookfield Township, Renville County. A 2017 Ford Fiesta driven by Amy c. Jaenisch, 18, Olivia was northbound on TH 4, on snow and ice, lost control, hit a guardrail and left the road. She was taken to Olivia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office assisted. She wore a seat belt. Air bags deployed and alcohol was not involved.
• Received a two-vehicle crash report on snow and ice at 7:04 p.m. Feb. 5 on TH 4 and Dupont Ave. N.E., Hector. A 2007 Mazda driven by Steven D. Stark, 25, Hector, was parked on the road shoulder when it was hit by a 2014 Ford Escape driven by Robin L. Peterson, 57, Hutchinson. A passenger in the Mazda, Darla J. Stark, 60, Gibbon, and Peterson were transported to Olivia Hospital. Stark had life-threatening injuries. Peterson had non-life threatening injuries. Another passenger, Douglas A. Stark, 59, Gibbon, was taken to Hutchinson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol was not involved.
