Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Received a scam/fraud report call at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday from a Stark Township resident who said they were called by a person claiming they were with the Social Security Administration and gave the caller their social security number. A report was made for documentation.

New Ulm Police

• A 37-year-old New Ulm woman told police at 9:09 a.m. Thursday that she found a security camera in her residence at 915 Jefferson St. N. that she believes was placed there by her husband. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for a possible Order For Protection violation.

• Received a scam/fraud report from a Sunset Apartments resident at 4:03 p.m. Thursday. The resident said a caller said they were from U.S. Bank in Atlanta, Ga. and would loan the resident $5,000 if they were sent $1,500 in Walgreen gift cards. The resident sent the individual the gift cards.

• Stopped a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old New Ulm boy for failure to stop at a red light near State Highway 15 and Cottonwood Street at 8:41 p.m. Thursday. The driver was also cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle. Since he is on probation, a report was sent to Brown County Probation.
