New Ulm Police

• Received a report of the theft of a 9mm Smith/Wesson gun loaded with two magazines from an unlocked vehicle on the 500 block of Jefferson St. N. at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday. Value of the gun was estimated at $400. The gun’s serial number was entered in a stolen weapon registry.

• Received a suspicious activity report at 11:36 a.m. Thursday of a suspected parent driving a white Ford Explorer who lost parental rights. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Assisted Brown County Human Services in removing a seven-month and two-year-old child from a residence on the 1500 block of Payne St. N. Thursday. The children were placed on a 72-hour health and welfare hold. A report was made for documentation.

McLeod County

Sheriff’s Office

• Responded at 5:49 p.m. Wednesday to a theft report on CR 7 south of Stewart. Further information was not available.

• Responded at 8:47 p.m. Wednesday to a vehicle in the ditch near Page Avenue and 100th Street north of Brownton. Brownton Police and Fire Departments also responded. A vehicle was towed. Deputies clear with a report.
