New Ulm Police

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash with unknown injuries on the 1900 block of South Broadway at 12:24 a.m. Friday. A vehicle was northbound on Broadway, drifted over the shoulder and hit a light pole, knocking it to the ground, over-corrected, hitting a construction barrel without stopping. The vehicle was located a short distance away, unoccupied.

Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with non-life threatening injuries on State Highway 60 and Cottonwood CR 1, Mountain Lake Township at 3:37 p.m. Thursday. A 1982 semi driven by Jason S. Kuelbs, 32, Sleepy Eye was eastbound on Highway 60 turning onto CR 1 when he collided with a 2017 Mack semi driven by William B. Wassenaar, 57, Slayton, who was westbound on Highway 60. Kuelbs was transported to St. James Hospital. Wassenaar was transported to Sanford Hospital. Both drivers wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at the intersection of State Highway 19 and Sibley County Road 17 (391st Avenue) at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 11. A tractor trailer driven by Justin Gauthier, 43, Manitoba, Canada was westbound on Highway 19 when he was hit by an SUV driven by Melissa Ortiz, 32, Arlington, who was northbound on CR 17. A large amount of diesel fuel spilled on the westbound lane of Highway 19. The Arlington Fire Dept. and Minnesota Department of Transportation cleaned up the fuel. The Minnesota State Patrol and Arlington Ambulance assisted.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Received a trespassing complaint from a Home Township resident at 4:04 p.m. Thursday. A resident said a 69-year-old Sleepy Eye man trespassed on CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) land multiple times near 235th Avenue and and CR 10. The complaint remains under investigation.
