New Ulm Police

• Received a two-vehicle personal injury crash report at 3:36 p.m. Monday at U.S. Highway 14 and North Garden Street. A 2008 Toyota Tacoma driven by Jerry D. Wegner, 72, New Ulm, was southbound on North Garden Street, crossed Highway 14 when a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan driven by Samantha K. Kump, 35, New Ulm, turned in front it him, while trying to turn west onto Highway 14 from Garden Street. Damage was severe both the passenger side of the minivan and severe to the front end of the front end of the Toyota. Kump had a right hand injury. A minivan passenger reported upper chest pain from a seat belt. Both drivers wore seat belts.

• Received a two-vehicle crash report at 13th South Street and Broadway on snow and ice at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday. A 2001 Chevy Malibu driven by Aubrey Schlomann, 18, New Ulm, tried to turn left from Broadway onto 13th South, lost control due to road conditions and turned in front of a 2006 Pontiac Torrent driven by bonnie Beranek-Fortwengler, 41, New Ulm. A passenger in the Pontiac had a possible minor injury. Damage was severe to both vehicles. Both drivers wore seat belts.

Sleepy Eye Police

• Received a theft report at 9:12 a.m. Tuesday from a Sleepy Eye man at 528 2nd Ave. N.E. The man said a 37-year-old Georgia woman staying at the residence left with 32 of his Oxycontin prescription pills. The value of the pills was not available.

Renville County

Sheriff

• Received a report of a two-vehicle crash at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Walnut Street.

The preliminary crash investigation revealed a 2008 Buick Enclave, driven by Phyllis Whittenberger, 78, was traveling east on 1st Avenue. Whittenberger failed to yield the right of way to a 2006 Ford Five Hundred driven by Lisa Dyess, 48, who was traveling north on Walnut Street. Whittenberger and Dyess were uninjured in the crash.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
