Network New Ulm leadership programs taking applications

NEW ULM — Established in 1997, Network New Ulm was developed to strengthen the quality of local leadership, which continues to be the key ingredient in giving the New Ulm area its well-earned reputation as an outstanding community. NNU seeks to build a stronger community by providing a diverse group of emerging and existing leaders with the opportunity to enhance their community knowledge, civic network, and leadership skills. Participants spend one day per month receiving professional development training, networking opportunities, and touring businesses, community assets, and local government.

The 25th year of participants recently graduated from this community leadership program, which is hosted by the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce. Recent and past graduates recommend the program to others; their testimonials can be found in the brochure and online. Whether new to the community or life-long residents, participants have found the sessions informative, enjoyable and challenging. The Chamber is excited to be able to continue offering this opportunity to current and future leaders in our community. Now is the time to apply for the 2023-24 class!

This year’s program is planned by last year’s graduates serving as ‘day chairs’, along with guidance from the Network New Ulm Steering Committee. The day chairs plan an exciting and varied program, and all those in attendance are sure to learn a great deal about our community while networking with other business and area leaders.

For those in our community who cannot commit to nine full days, or already graduated from the Network New Ulm program, the Chamber is offering Network New Ulm Leadership 2.0. Every leader plays a significant role in making a community the best it can be. This program will take a deeper dive into personal leadership and how it can impact the future of the entire community. Leadership 2.0 is open to anyone. Graduates of the Network New Ulm Community Leadership Program (any year) will be given priority if the program is full.

The Chamber is currently accepting applications for both Network New Ulm and Leadership 2.0, which runs Sept-May. Deadline to apply is July 31. Applications are available online at newulm.com or contact the Chamber at 233-4300 or chamber@newulm.com.
