Citizens Bank Minnesota hosted its final employee blood drive for 2022 with the American Red Cross on Sept. 29 in their New Ulm Training Room.

Citizens employees collected 27 units of blood. Collectively, employees donated 91 units to the American Red Cross, which equates to nearly 11.4 gallons from blood drives in January, May and September.

This effort was in conjunction with the Minnesota Bankers Association’s Community Impact Month. Across the state, 83 banks and over 351 branches joined forces in September to serve several cities across Minnesota.

Donors of all blood types always are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative, and A negative. According to the Red Cross, type O negative is the universal blood type that can be safely transfused to anyone, and is often used to treat trauma patients.
