NEW ULM — Broadway hits to suit anyone’s taste will be the focal point of State Street Theater’s pre-shopping opener launch on Friday, Nov. 1, starting with a social hour at 6 p.m.

The concert will feature Broadway hits like “Cabaret,” “I’m Gonna Wash that Man Right Outa My Hair,” “My Favorite Things,” “Mr. Sandman,” “New York, New York,” and “You can’t stop the Beat,” among others.

The Broadway Divas will be in concert on stage at 7:30 p.m. Before that, concert goers will celebrate at the “Back Stage Bar & Lounge,” enjoying treats from a catered dessert buffet included in the ticket price. Cash bars will be available, one serving a specialty cocktail created by Jeff Gulden, and, in honor of the pre-season, called the Merry Martini! These will be served up by Jeff and other celebrity waiters, Maria Anderson, Shari Davis and Brian Shropshire. The second bar will serve local beers and wine, in addition to sodas and water.

Door prizes will be awarded during intermission, consisting of tickets to “Charlie Brown Christmas,” “The Nutcracker,” and “Looney Lutherans,” all December events at State Street Theater to be enjoyed by the recipient or given as early gifts. Sponsors who helped make the event possible are: Bailey Creek Boutique, Gutes Essen, Heine Law PA, Inspired, New Ulm Real Estate, Sewing Seeds Quilt Company, The Thimble Box, and TK Event Planners.

Advance tickets at $15 can be purchased up to noon on Friday, November 1, at New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, Hy-Vee, and online at statestreetnewulm.org.
