Offering food and drink, the business is open 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

SLEEPY EYE — Downtown Main Street is often lit up these days by Sleepy Eye Coffee Co. which recently opened for business in the former PIX theater building.

Theater marquee lights can be seen for blocks in the business advertised as having a big-city vibe and small-town charm.

Serving espresso drinks, coffee, smoothies, frappes, baked goods, soups and sandwiches on made-from-scratch bread, the business is open after an extensive renovation project.

Syrup flavors include vanilla, sugar-free vanilla, caramel, sugar-free caramel, pumpkin pie, hazelnut, amaretto, cinnamon, peppermint, lavender, raspberry, dark and white chocolate sauce.

Baked goods include chocolate brownies, chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon buns, scones and muffins.

Soups in cups or bowls include the soup of the day and tomato basil. A recent soup of the day was bison and bacon chili.

Sandwich choices include smoked turkey and swiss with roasted peppers and fresh greens; three-meat and cheese with honey butter; roasted chicken and red bell peppers with cheese, greens and pesto and four cheeses on a grilled, buttery roll.

Drinks include many expresso, specialty and brewed drinks including tea.

Business hours are 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

A micro-brewery is planned to open in December.
