Teirab joins GOP field in 2nd District
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Democratic U.S. Rep. Angie Craig has another Republican challenger in Joe Teirab. The 36-year-old Teirab is a Marine Corps veteran, former federal prosecutor, Harvard Law School graduate and son of a Sudanese immigrant. Teirab is running for the Republican nomination in Minnesota’s 2nd District. That is swing territory that includes Twin Cities suburbs south of the Minnesota and Mississippi rivers. Teirab served over four years on active duty as an officer in the Marine Corps, including a deployment to Iraq. Other GOP candidates include Burnsville lawyer Tayler Rahm and former Lexington Mayor Mike Murphy.
