NUMC offers nursing, health care career scholarships

NEW ULM — Applications are now being accepted for the New Ulm Medical Center 2026-2027 academic year scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to students who are currently pursuing their nursing degree, nurse practitioner/physician assistant degree or a degree in a health care related field.

Go to the online scholarship application to download the application form and scholarship criteria. Scholarship applications are due April 1, 2026. Below are the various scholarships available:

The Charlotte West Anderson Scholarship - One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to one student who resides in New Ulm or the surrounding area and is pursuing a degree in health care. Applicants must have been accepted into an accredited health care program.

The Carol L. Ryberg Nursing Scholarship - One $5,000 scholarship will be given to one student who resides in Brown County and has been accepted into an accredited Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) program at a post-secondary institution.

The Carol L. Ryberg Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant Scholarship – One $7,500 scholarship will be given to one student who resides in Brown Country and is pursuing either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant degree.

The Dr. Marc and Lori Burkhart Medical Scholarship – One $5,000 scholarship will be given to one student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing or medical school.

Joshua Long Memorial Scholarship Guidelines – One $2,500 scholarship will be given to one student who resides in New Ulm or the surrounding area. They must have been accepted into an accredited BA or BSN nursing program at a post-secondary institution.
