Human Rights Commission seeks student commissioner
NEW ULM – The New Ulm Human Rights Commission (HRC) is seeking to fill one student commissioner seat. The seat would be non-voting and would be filled by a high school-age student. HRC is looking to fill a two-year term with a current freshman, sophomore, or junior. Applicants must be current residents of the City of New Ulm. The position will remain open until filled.
The Mission of the HRC is to secure for all individuals, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, disability, public assistance, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, familial status, and any other protected class, equal opportunity to employment, housing, public accommodations, public service, and education; and to secure full participation in the affairs of this community by assisting the State Department of Human Rights and by advising the city on long-range programs to improve human relations in the city.
The Commission meets the fourth Monday of the month at 5:15 p.m. at City Hall.
