‘Night of One-Acts’ this weekend

NEW ULM — The 9th Annual “Night of One-Acts” will be held at the Grand Kabaret, 210 N. Minnesota St. in New Ulm at 7 p.m. on July 19 and 20, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 21.

First up is “Speed Date” by Janet Allard. We all want to find the right person to spend our life with but meeting people like this could change your mind about that. It will be followed by “The Might Roving Pan-Galactic Miknik Art Players” by Jo Davidsmeyer, the story of a roving band of actors who put on an spur of the moment play telling the story of the great prophet Miknik, who is truly a legend in his own mind.

The cost is $7 or $5 for students and seniors. The cast is made up of high school students from Brown County. This production presented by Healthy Community Healthy Youth with the financial support of the 3M Foundation, the United Way of Brown County, and Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council from funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature.

Outstanding Brown County Seniors sought

BROWN COUNTY — The Brown County Fair is looking for outstanding senior volunteers to honor on Senior Day at this year’s fair.

Individuals must be over the age of 70, reside in Brown County, and show outstanding volunteer service within their community!
