FUN AT THE BROWN COUNTY FAIR
Medallions are given to Cloverbuds who did best in interviews, where a 4-H leader interviewed them on animals and their care.
Brown County Historical Society opened the one-room school house at the fairgrounds over the weekend. Hundreds of fairgoers were able to explore the old school version of education. Evangeline Scharf dressed up in some old fashion clothes on Saturday and practice writing with chalk on a slate.
Optimist Club member Sheldon Rieke laments the organization sold out of cheese curds. The Optimist Club started out with a half ton of cheese curds at the start of the fair, but had sold out by Sunday afternoon.
Kathy Fredrickson gives a small speech after receiving an award for her service in leading the 4-H food stand.
During Alpensterne’s performance ahead of the Woodcarving auction, the band sang happy birthday to Candice Stadick (sitting on bench). Stadick served as the Brown County Fair board secretary and celebrated a birthday this week.
Three seniors are recognized for their contributions to 4-H as they move toward a new chapter in their lives.
