Craft, vendor show draws a crowd
SLEEPY EYE — Everything from glowing fish bait to colorful custom woodwork were among more than 40 vendors at the 4th Annual Sleepy Eye Craft and Vendor Show at the Sleepy Eye Event Center Sunday.
Paul Gustafson of Bloomington-based Jig Mania displayed a wide variety of Nitro glow night fishing bait including “wacky worms”. Gustafson this time of year is busy with craft vendors with shows in a number of cities including New Ulm, Norwood-Young America and Hastings.
Gustafson was particularly busy. Show-goers waited in line to talk to him.
Patrick and Pam Ryder JR Creative New Creations of Fairfax displayed custom wall art including signs with the American flag and other things.
“I love working with wood,” Pam Ryder said. The business recently made a customized, four-foot round table and shipped to a customer in Mississippi.
Sleepy Eye show organizer Cortnie Mathiowetz said the Sleepy Eye Event Center was full of exhibitors this year.
She said Sugar Shanty of New Ulm, which produces pure maple syrup plus jam, salsa and craft items is among the show’s more popular vendors.
