Group Camp talk at Flandrau
Minneopa Area Naturalist Scott Kudelka will present a talk on Flandrau State Park’s historic Group Camp on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m.
This talk will focus on the history of the park’s Group Camp from its inception as a Works Progress Administration transient camp in the 1930s during the Great Depression up to the present day.
In 1944-45, the camp housed World War II prisoners of war from Germany and the site is still being used by the public for family and community gatherings. Pre-registration is required for this program by sending an email to scott.kudelka@state.mn.us.
