Cambria’s 150th Fourth of July celebration underway

Music in park Saturday

CAMBRIA — Cambria’s 150th Annual Fourth of July celebration got underway Friday night with fireworks at dusk.

Music in the park takes place 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday with Ross Deopere, The Wildflowers, and DD & Roscoe. All are invited and encouraged to bring their own chairs, snacks, and beverages.

Sunday events begin at 9 a.m. with the Cambria Presbyterian Church service in the park and the music of Carol and Jerry Larson.

A variety of games start at 11 a.m. in the park. Lunch with Sloppy Joes, hot dogs, beans, chips, and watermelon follows from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A free will offering will be taken.

The annual parade begins at 1 p.m. Sunday. A patriotic program begins at 2 p.m. followed by community memories, music by the Larsons, DD & Roscoe, a community sing-along, and fancy cake auction.

Other July Fourth events:

• Turner Hall Park in New Ulm features free live music by Adam & The Jammers, Alpensterne, and the Wendinger Band from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 4. Beer, brats, burgers, an ice cream cart and 1919 Root Beer are available.

• Sleepy Eye’s Fourth of July in Allison Park begins at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Knights of Columbus foot stand will serve burgers, hot dogs, kraut dogs, chips, beans and beverages. St. Mary’s students will operate an ice cream sandwich stand. The Sleepy Eye Concertina Club will provide music. Fireworks begin at dusk over the lake.

• Hanska fireworks begin at dusk from Hanlin Field Sunday.

• Morton July Fourth events on Sunday include a 3 p.m. parade, Fireman’s pork chop feet from 4 to 7 p.m., kid’s pedal pull at 6 p.m, 7 p.m. patriotic sing-along, and fireworks at dusk in the park.
