SE City Council considers real estate ordinances

SLEEPY EYE – The Sleepy Eye City Council will consider the reading of ordinances to sell lots in the Sleepy Hollow 5th Addition and in the Snow Farm property on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The council will consider the first reading of an ordinance to sell a lot in the Sleepy Hollow 5th Addition, the second reading of an ordinance to sell a lot in the Snow Farm property, the second reading of an ordinance to sell lots in the Sleepy Hollow 5th Addition and consider a resolution for lot splits in the Sleepy Hollow 5th Addition.

The council will also consider:

• The mayor’s city attorney appointment and permission for the city attorney to appoint counsel for conflicts.

• Elect a council president.

• A resolution to accept donations.

• A plumbing license application from Jake’s Plumbing.

• An ordinance for a zoning change for Lot 8, Block 1, Nelson’s Second Addition.

• A conditional use permit for Dale and Robin Schottle to allow a single family dwelling in the business/industrial zone, 619 Main St. E.

• A variance application by Brandon and Jessica Kuelbs to allow an 8′ by 12′ utility shed that would result in the total square footage of all outbuildings at 96 square feet over the 1,008 square foot limit for a residential zone.

• City Engineer’s report including 2020 Street & Utility improvements, 12th Avenue/St. Mary’s Street improvements, 2021-2022 CSAH 35/1st Avenue improvements with an update and setting a public improvement hearing for the March meeting.

• Considering adoption of updated personnel manual and supporting policies including social media, computer use, PTO donations and FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) policies.
