Rodney’s is back
NEW ULM — For the second time in 10 months, Rodney’s Tavern reopened its doors 3 p.m. Thursday.
The dial back Gov. Tim Walz issued for restaurants and bars back in November was relaxed on Monday. Several area bars and restaurants reopened, but Rodney’s owner Rodney Zimmer chose to reopen on Thursday. The idea was not to rush supply orders.
“That’s why we opened today instead of Monday,” Zimmer said. “We wanted to get our ducks in a row.”
Zimmer said it was not too difficult to get the bar back open after being closed for over months. “We’ve rehearsed this once before. We know what we’re doing now.”
For the first day back, only the bar was open. Rodney’s Kitchen will restart Friday. Regular kitchen hours will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
