NEW ULM — New Ulm High School senior Bethany Janssen has received District 88’s AAA Award.

The Triple-A award is given to students excelling in Athletics, Academics and Fine Arts.

Janssen has played varsity tennis for three years and went All-Conference this year. She also manages the girl’s basketball team and participates in Trap Shooting.

In academics, she prefers to take a variety of classes, with a preference for science. Janssen said she plans to study Geology.

In fine arts, she is a member of the school band and jazz band. Depending on the day she plays the french horn, mellophone, baritone sax, tenor sax or the piano.

Janssen plans to attend North Dakota State in the fall.
