NEW ULM — The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the 2020 Business of the Year.

Since 1974, the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce has recognized a business in the New Ulm Area for their Chamber involvement, community involvement and economic impact in the area. This year, two businesses will be recognized: one large and one small. The Chamber is asking the community to nominate a worthy business.

Nomination forms are available at the Chamber office at 1 N Minnesota St, in downtown New Ulm. They are also available online at newulm.com, or you can request one via email to chamber@newulm.com.

Nomination forms are being accepted through Dec. 10.

Of the nominees, the Chamber board will select three finalists in each category: large business and small business. Voting will take place at the Chamber Annual Meeting, which will be held on Jan. 23 at the New Ulm Conference Center/Best Western Plus. Each chamber member business will receive one ballot. The winning businesses will be announced that evening.

The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce has a membership of nearly 350 businesses including New Ulm’s largest and smallest employers, retailers, professional services and interested individuals. The Chamber’s mission is to encourage economic growth in our community by supporting our members through business development, networking, education, advocacy, and access to resources. A variety of businesses have been recognized as Business of the Year since 1974, including both large employers, small businesses and retail stores.
