Springfield celebrating Riverside Days

SPRINGFIELD–Riverside Days continues this weekend in Springfield with a grand parade through town, Friday.

The parade started at O’Connel Avenue and traveled west on Lincoln Street, north on Mary Avenue, east on Sanborn and ended at the intersection with Cass Street.

The parade was followed by a Street Dance at the Legion.

Saturday morning events will kick off with a 5K Fun Run/Walk with a 7 a.m. registration and the run starting at 8 a.m. at the Community Center.

A vendor show will run from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. in Riverside Park. The Firemen’s Pork Chop Feed is from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Springfield Fire Station. The Fireman’s Street Dance begins at 9 p.m. with “Switch Road Band.”

Sunday morning, the Ambulance Garage will host a Pancake Feed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
