Hail reported in St. James, Truman

WATONWAN COUNTY — The thunderstorm that blew through south central Minnesota late Saturday afternoon included hail reported in many cities including St. James, Truman, Windom, Winnebago, Fairmont, Granada, Heron Lake and Jackson.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported four to five inches of rain just north of the Watonwan-Martin County line. About an inch of rain was reported in New Ulm.

A flash flood warning was in effect until 7:45 p.m. Saturday for southern Mower and western Fillmore Counties. At 5:02 p.m. Saturday, local law enforcement reported flash flooding across parts of eastern Mower County. Up to three inches of rain fell.

A NWS trained spotter reported one-inch hail in Manchester, in Freeborn County.

A flood warning continued for the Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Chippewa, Lac qui Parle and Yellow Medicine Counties and the Minnesota River at Morton affecting Renville County.
