Commissioners recognize employee award winners

NEW ULM — Brown County commissioners recognized four 2023 service award recipients Tuesday.

Brown County Heartland Express Assistant Manager Nate Moldan received a safety award. He was cited for training new hires for the organization that has excellent safety records and online performance.

Brown County Child Protection Supervisor Denise Kamm and Information Technology Director Chris Fritz received safety awards.

Kamm was cited for going above and beyond to make employees feel valued by offering support, guidance and instruction when needed.

Fritz was credited with being professional, prompt, respectful, thorough, and tenaciously fixing problems.

Brown County Public Health Educator/Planner Eric Schwab received the Commissioner Award for exhibiting exemplary performance.

She was cited for building many new partnerships and taking on addition tasks including doing training for Adverse Childhood Experience Trauma.

Schwab created a well-being and resilience series that focuses on different topics at the New Ulm Community Center. She also offers Eight Dimensions of Wellness training, leads the Brown County Mental Health and Wellness Action team, Chemical Health Action Team and the Heart of New Ulm.

In addition, she became the Brown County Wellness Coordinator and assisted the public health director with opioid settlement work.

County employee retirees for 2023 were Marvin Drill, Susan Klossner, Susan Radel, Eugene Ranweiler, Laine Sletta and Barb Stueber.

Veterans service office driver Kim Williams was cited for 40 years service. Employees with 30 years service were David Gohl of the highway dept. and David Munson, probation.

Sheriff’s office employees Pam Burdorf and Dina Zachman were cited for 25 years service.

Ryan Froehlich of the sheriff’s office-corrections and Denise Kamm, human services, were recognized for 20 years service.
