Nicollet County commissioners OK grant submission

ST. PETER — Nicollet County commissioners unanimously approved renewing a grant submission for a full-time Victim/Witness Coordinator position May 14.

The position is funded with an Office of Justice Programs grant that would cover the cost from Oct. 1, 2019 to Sept. 30, 2021.

Public Works Director Seth Greenwood reported current road and park closures due to flooding and heavy rainfall as County Road 1, the CR 14 hillside and Seven Mile Creek Park. Greenwood is working with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on disaster funding for the closed sites.

Commissioner John Luepke asked about township reimbursement for wear and tear on township roads being used as CR 12 detour routes. Greenwood said most of the traffic on those township roads are from the TH 14/15 detour. He said townships can contact him and he will refer them to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).

Administrator Ryan Krosch asked commissioners to consider a Bolton & Menk proposal for section corner remonumentation completion in West Newton and Ridgely Townships. He said letters will be sent to affected landowners. The proposal was approved unanimously, motion by Commissioner Terry Morrow, seconded by Luepke.
