Dist. 84 Board OKs long-term maintenance plan

SLEEPY EYE — The District 84 Board of Education unanimously approved a 10-year long-term maintenance plan and facility maintenance revenue projections for fiscal years 2019-2028 Wednesday.

Maintenance consultant Tim Harbo said plans call for replacing the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit) in the elementary gym next year at an estimated cost of $300,000. In addition, the roof over the newer elementary school addition would be replaced for about $100,000 after the HVAC project. Harbo said the projects alone should not cause a local tax levy increase.
