SE man, woman face drug charges

Pot, cocaine seized in house search

SLEEPY EYE — A 24-year-old woman and 26-year-old man each face four felony 5th-degree drug possession charges after the Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville County Drug Task Force search of their residence in Sleepy Eye on Thursday, Sept. 27.

After a search warrant was executed, Jennifer J. Hanson and Jacob A. Madson, both of 509 Summit St. S.E. were arrested and transported by Sleepy Eye Police to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center where they were booked Thursday night. They remain in custody.

Authorities conducted surveillance at the residence earlier in the day.

According to court documents, Hanson was seen leaving and returning to the residence in a white SUV. Drug Task Force (DTF) agents knew that Madson and two children also live at the residence.

While Hanson was gone the second time, Madson was seen returning home just before the DTF moved to the house. Agents gave him a copy of the warrant before they found a multi-colored, glass pipe and yellow substance, believed to be marijuana was, on wax paper in plain view on the kitchen counter.

Many other jars and bags with a green, leafy substance were found in kitchen cupboards. A total of 538.8 grams or 1.1 pounds of leafy marijuana were found. In addition, two unmarked bottles containing nine pills identified as oxycodone hydrochloride, 15 mg, a Schedule II controlled substance, 10 pills identified as 5 mg oxycodone hydrochloride, a Schedule 2 controlled substance, and 12 pills identified as tramadol hydrochloride 50 mg, a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Two bags contained a white, powdery substance, were located in the cupboard and field-tested positive for cocaine, weighing 4.9 grams. In addition, 41.3 grams of marijuana wax were found.
