Deputies, DNR officer find lost kayaker

SWAN LAKE — Authorities used a boat to find a kayaker who reported being lost on Swan Lake May 26.

The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office was contacted at 6:30 p.m. May 28 by a kayaker, Jade St. Germaine, Watertown, Wi. who said she was kayaking on Swan Lake and became disoriented in tall weeds and trees after she left her kayak to explore an island on foot. Nicollet County deputies and a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation Officer found her before long.

St. Germaine was evaluated and cleared by medical personnel at the scene and released. The kayak was not recovered. Assisting with the recovery were Gold Cross Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.
