NEW ULM — During Thursday’s Senior Dining event at the Community Center, members of the Brown County Committee on Aging (BCCA) honored Bob Apitz for 41 years working with the county’s senior community.
Apitz recently retired, and the committee gave him a pair on brand new folding chairs as a special thank-you gift.
Earlier in the day, Apitz served as the MC for the Senior Citizen’s Day programing at the Brown County Fair.
Don Brand commented that Apitz did so much for Brown County’s seniors, that upon his retirement as transit coordinator, the county needed to hire two people to replace him.
Apitz said the people are the aspect of the job he will miss most.
