NEW ULM — If you were at the Brown County License Bureau Friday, you probably noticed the bright green shirts employees were wearing.

The green shirts promotes the public to register to be an organ, eye and tissue donor.

Everyone has the potential to be an organ, eye and tissue donor. Most health conditions do not prevent donation and age is not a factor. The oldest organ donor was 92.

One person can save and heal up to 60 lives with organ, eye and tissue donation. If you haven’t registered to be a donor, your family will be asked to make the decision about donation on your behalf. It is important that you have a conversation about donation and share your decision with your loved ones.

If you decide to be a donor, your family will not have to pay for any medical expenses associated with the donation.

Donate Life Minnesota is managed by LifeSource, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives through organ and tissue donation in the Upper Midwest.
