BCHS to host volunteer open house

NEW ULM — The Brown County Historical Society (BCHS) invites the public to a Volunteer Open House on Thursday, March 12, in the Museum Annex from 9:30am to 11:00am. Attendees will learn about volunteer opportunities with the BCHS while enjoying coffee and rolls.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the BCHS. Because of the donated time and talent by volunteers, the BCHS is able to provide a variety of programs and services. BCHS volunteers may “work” in one or more service areas of the society. At the Open House attendees will have opportunities to learn about all areas where volunteers are needed.

Volunteers are being recruited to assist with collections, archives, tours, front desk, popcorn wagon, Kiesling House, the book sale, special events and more. Representatives from the various service areas of the BCHS will be available to share information and answer questions. BCHS representatives include: Darla Gebhard, BCHS Research Librarian; Ryan Harren, BCHS Collections Curator; Connie Weilage, BCHS Program Coordinator; Yvonne Weber, BCHS Popcorn Wagon Coordinator; Cara Knauf, BCHS Kiesling House Coordinator; Lissa Biebl, BCHS Book Sale and One Room School House Coordinator and Kathleen Backer, BCHS Executive Director.
