Cathedral Parish Summer Festival on Sunday

NEW ULM — Cathedral Parish is holding its Summer Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 at 605 N. State St.

Activities include; Kids’ games area, raffles, a silent auction, pull-tabs and bingo. Visit the book sale or buy a treasure from the Curiosity Shop, the area’s largest garage sale of the summer. Smoked ribs, grilled brats, burgers, German potato salad and more will be served.

The bake sale will feature Schmierkuchen, breads, scones, pies and numerous other treats.

Music in Winthrop City Park

WINTHROP — Dale Dahmen and the Beats will perform on Thursday June 27th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Winthrop City Park.

There will be a light meal starting at 5:30 p.m., with refreshments also available. Door prizes will be given that have been donated by local merchants.

This concert is sponsored by the Winthrop Lions and the Winthrop Chamber, and with a grant funded by the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, with special allocation funded by the State Legislature.

History Day Camp

NEW ULM — The Brown County Historical Society will hold a History Day Camp Tuesday, July 9, and Thursday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. At the camp, held at the Brown County Museum Annex in New Ulm, participants will experience life of a child living in the mid to late 1800’s.

Attend the History Day Camp and learn about the chore of making butter; washing clothes the way pioneers did; playing pioneer games; making vintage crafts and learning about the importance of the buffalo to Native Americans. Experience what it was like to live in the past and dress up like a pioneer or a fur trader.
