Public Health clinics have Moderna booster

The FDA and CDC now recommend a single COVID-19 bivalent booster dose. The bivalent booster dose specifically targets certain omicron sub-variants along with the original coronavirus strain. Both Moderna and Pfizer were approved for emergency use authorization on Sept. 2. The Moderna booster dose will be available for those 18 years and older who are at least 2 months from either their primary COVID-19 vaccine series or last booster dose.

The Pfizer booster dose will be available for those 12 years and older who are at least 2 months from either their primary COVID-19 vaccine series or last booster dose.

The bivalent booster is now the only approved booster dose.

Brown County Public Health will initially offer the Moderna booster at vaccine clinics on Mondays from 1-5:30 p.m. Pfizer boosters may be available with local medical providers or pharmacies.

Brown County Public Health also continues to offer a COVID-19 vaccine clinic each Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. for primary series doses. Moderna is available for those 6 months and older, and Pfizer is available for those 12 years and older.

Appointments for COVID-19 vaccines can be scheduled at Brown County Public Health by visiting co.brown.mn.us/covidvaccine or by calling 507-233-6280. Medical providers and pharmacies will also continue to offer vaccinations as well.
