New Ulm appreciates International Multifoods

A packed luncheon at the Dr. Martin Luther College Student Union highlighted the second annual Industry Appreciation Day in New Ulm Thursday.
Mayor Carl L. Wyczawski, speaking before the estimated 350 business and community leaders, praised International Multifoods, this year’s industrial firm chosen to be honored.
“We naturally are very proud of the people who work at Supersweet in New Ulm and Courtland,” the mayor said. “They have contributed much to our community.”
Wyczawski also presented a resolution to Darrell Runke, president of International Multifoods, who, with a number of other corporation executives made his way to New Ulm from corporate headquarters in Minneapolis to be on hand for the ceremonies.
“International Multifoods has been a significant contributor to the economic viability of the City of New Ulm by operating and expanding facilities in and near this community over a period of almost 25 years,” the resolution said in part.
The resolution proclaimed Thursday International Multifood Day in New Ulm.
