VFW BASEBALL SLEEPY EYE 4, MANKATO NATIONAL 1 MANKATO — Sixth-seeded Sleepy Eye took down third-seeded Mankato National 4-1 in the opening round of the District 2 VFW Tournament on Wednesday. Cooper Walter got the win for Sleepy Eye, striking out 10 and allowing one run on five hits in seven innings of work. WABASSO — The Milroy Yankees defeated the Wabasso Jaxx 9-3 in a Corn Belt League amateur baseball game on Sunday. CJ Theis took the loss for Wabasso, striking out one and allowing five runs, one earned, on three hits in six innings.
