Look out for large farm equipment on roads

Another planting season is upon us and that means large farm equipment will be sharing rural roads across southwest Minnesota with other vehicles. The Minnesota Department of Transportation this week reminded motorists traveling on these roads to keep a look out for farm equipment. MNDOT ask motorists and farm equipment operators to safely share the roads during planting season. Since 2021, MnDOT says there have been 446 crashes involving farm equipment in Minnesota, resulting in eight deaths and 171 injuries. “Farmers need our highways to prepare and plant fields at this time ...

Senior care facilities are having difficulty with recruitment and retention. Another problem is the state’s delay in reimbursing nursing rural homes for their Medicaid expenses. First, the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame (MMHF) will be inducting new members Friday, April 19 during the 33rd Induction Ceremony and Awards Banquet. Thumbs up Citizen Support for Hanska Library This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Hanska Library. From the beginning, the Hanska Library has been grassroots effort, with many volunteers working without pay to make sure the community with a population of 400 had access to a library. Those volunteers and citizens once again showed up in support of the library. Last Tuesday, the Hanska City Council held a special meeting to discuss the library’s budget.
