Sheriff races develop in Sibley, Nicollet counties

NEW ULM — Political races have developed in Sibley, Nicollet and Redwood Counties since the filing period for federal, state and county offices opened May 19. Sibley County Chief Deputy Denley Kompelien, Wayne Nagel and Charles Fenger filed to run for sheriff May 19. The filing period continues until 5 p.m., Tuesday. Sibley County Sheriff Patrick Nienaber announced in March that he will not seek re-election. Family facilitators offer flexible services

NEW ULM — Brown County commissioners learned Tuesday that when a child is referred to Brown County Human Services from a parent struggling with their teenager’s behavior, the family facilitator program works with the entire family. Brown County family facilitators help children and families to be successful in their home, school and community with prevention and early intervention services.
