New Ulm Police • Cited a 53-year-old Sleepy Eye man for the theft of $108 worth of items at the Walmart self checkout at 5:16 p.m. Tuesday. The man was identified on store video surveillance cameras.

New Ulm Police • Responded to an assault report at 2 a.m. Saturday in an alley on the first block of Minnesota Street North. Police said a 21-year-old New Ulm man had a cut lip and tooth injury when a 21-year-old Mendota Heights man hit him in the face. The victim was transported to the New Ulm Medical Center Emergency Dept. and later went to a dentist. Police said the suspect admitted hitting the man. Brown County Sheriff’s Office • Received a report at 9:54 p.m. Thursday of a suspicious man walking around town, wearing blue jeans and a hoodie near 1st St. South and Knudsen Street in Evan. The man fled when deputies got close. A report was done for documentation. New Ulm Police • Responded to a report from the Walmart asset protection employee at Walmart at 7:41 p.m. Thursday. A 65-year-old Madelia woman involved in a felony theft case returned to the store, was confronted by the asset protection employee and fled. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

A report went to Brown County Probation. • Received a $74.98 skip scanning theft report from Walmart at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday involving a 42-year-old New Ulm woman identified on video surveillance. She was cited for theft and trespassed from Walmart.
