Leo ‘Duke’ Kral

SLEEPY EYE — Leo “Duke” Kral, age 82, of rural Sleepy Eye died on April 17, 2018, at his home.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm and will continue on Friday from 7:30 until 10 am at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.

Service will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:30 am.

The clergy will be Father Andy Michels.

Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Brown County Hospice or Dept. of Oncology, Mayo Health Systems, Mankato.

Leo Lorenz Kral was born on August 2, 1935 in New Ulm to Harry Sr. & Frances (Fischer) Kral. Leo attended country school and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School. He farmed on the Kral “Home” farm with his four sons and relatives until the present. He also hauled cattle and hauled produce at Del Monte. Leo married Anna (Kokesch) Kral on October 9, 1956 at the Church of St. Willibrord’s in Gibbon, MN. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was on the restoration board for the Little Red School House. Duke enjoyed bowling, playing cards especially sheephead, deer hunting with his children, grandchildren and friends. He also enjoyed traveling with Anna and friends, caring for his beef cattle, old time concertina music, watching old western movies and loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
