Highway 14 New Ulm to Nicollet – traffic detour modification begins

MANKATO — The Highway 14 New Ulm to Nicollet construction project implemented a traffic detour modification by mid-afternoon, Monday, June 19. The traffic modification will involve the closing of existing Highway 14 from Courtland to the MPM (New Ulm Quartzite Quarry) driveway. There will be no access along Highway 14 until late August in this area. Local residents of Jeremy Drive, Kohn Drive and Hillcrest Lane will have access via Jeremy Drive intersection to the west along new Highway 14 toward New Ulm. Dear Heloise: I recently turned 65 and signed up with a Medicare health provider. I have since learned that the company gave/rented/sold my name for me to be contacted about an offer for a free “health assessment” in my own home. I thought it was a good idea and could do no harm to be proactive in my health concerns. Even though I am in very good health and don’t take any medications, I was asked if I needed assistance with a cane, walker or wheelchair.
