NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City Council of the City of New Ulm, Brown County, Minnesota will meet in the Council Chambers in the New Ulm City Hall on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. to consider the variance request of City of New Ulm on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce to permit amplified sound on Minnesota Street and Center Street on Saturday, August 5, 2023.  The variance is for the time period from 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. during the Spikin’ in the Street sand volleyball tournament.  The City Code limits the production or reproduction of sound between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. if it is audible at a distance of 500′ from the source.  

This variance request is authorized by Section 8.08, Subdivision 9 of the New Ulm City Code.  Notice of the Public Hearing is being sent to all property owners within 500 feet of the source.
