Four Eagles earn All-BSC Tennis honors

The Big South Conference released its All-Conference Boys Tennis team for the 2026 season, with four New Ulm players represented. Seniors Charlie Weidman and Dan Brownfield both made the team for the Black Division, while senior Wyatt Feucht and junior Thomas Lehne were both Honorable Mention selections. New Ulm finished second in the Black Division with a 3-1 record.

VFW Silver win Luverne tourney

LUVERNE — The New Ulm VFW Silver won the Luverne Junior Legion Baseball Tournament this past weekend, defeating Sanford 8-0 on Friday, the Midwest Vandals 6-1 on Saturday and the Marshall VFW Orange 4-2 on Sunday. In the win over Sanford, Hudson Lieser was 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Silver, while Blake Aufderheide was 1 for 2 with two RBIs. Owen Drill earned the win in five innings, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out five. It started out in the first feature of the Jack Pines Resort IMCA Hobby on the on the second lap when the 53 of Travis Koester broke his trailing arm and rolled over.
