MLS roundup: Castellanos, Héber lead NYCFC to 4-1 win over FC Cincinnati

CINCINNATI (AP) — Héber Araujo dos Santos and Valentín Castellanos each scored twice and New York City FC beat FC Cincinnati 4-1 on Saturday night.

Héber scored in first-half stoppage time to give NYCFC (11-5-8) a 2-1 lead. Maximiliano Moralez, on the left side, played a low cross that deflected off the foot of Castellanos before Héber side-footed a rising first-timer into the net from near the spot.

Allan Cruz put away a cross by Andrew Gutman to give FC Cincinnati a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute, but Castellanos tied it in the 32nd. With four defenders in the area, Castellanos patiently took a dribble, cut inside and blasted a right-footer inside the far post from 20 yards out.

It was the first MLS assist for Gutman, a 22-year-old defender, in just his second appearance.

Castellanos added a goal in the 71st minute and Héber capped the scoring the 89th. The 20-year-old Castellanos has three multi-goal games this season, including two in the last three games.

Cincinnati (5-18-3) is winless, with five losses, in its last six games.

FC DALLAS 3, IMPACT 3

MONTREAL (AP) — Ryan Hollingshead scored in stoppage time and FC Dallas overcame a three-goal deficit to tie the Montreal Impact 3-3 on Saturday night.

Substitute Zdenek Ondrasek and captain Reto Ziegler, from the penalty spot, also scored for FC Dallas (10-10-7).

Lassi Lappalainen scored two first-half goals, and Orji Okwonkwo added a third early in the second for the Impact (10-13-4).

Ziegler pulled Dallas to 3-2 in 85th minute on a penalty kicj after Ken Krolicki’s hand ball in the box.

REVOLUTION 1,

RED BULLS 1

HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — Gustavo Bou scored in the 65th minute and the New England Revolution held on for a 1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night.

Bou got on the end of Carles Gil’s well-placed through ball and slipped it under the goalkeeper into the right side to level it for the Revolution (9-9-8).

Marc Rzatkowski opened the scoring for the Red Bulls (11-10-5) in the 18th minute. Rzatkowski knocked down Edgar Castillo’s attempted clearance with his right foot and zipped home a left-footed volley from the top of the penalty area.

The Red Bulls’ Brian White left in the 29th minute because of an ankle injury.

TORONTO FC 2, CREW 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Jozy Altidore scored in the 90th minute to give Toronto FC a 2-2 draw with the Columbus Crew on Saturday night.

Altidore found an open space on a run into the 6-yard box and headed home Auro’s cross to pull Toronto FC (9-10-7) level.

David Accam made it 2-1 for the Crew (7-14-6) in the 82nd minute. Accam got the ball at midfield on the counter from Harrison Afful and sprinted behind a couple of long dribbles until he was in shooting range where he finished a low hard shot into the left corner.

Pedro Santos slide underneath Wil Trapp’s pass with a left-footed finish to tie it for the Crew in the 48th minute.

Jonathan Osorio gave Toronto FC the lead in the 42nd minute with a 25-yard shot.
