MVL boys win tri meet at Prairie Ridge

JANESVILLE — The Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers boys golf team won a prep golf triangular on Monday at Prairie Ridge Golf Course, defeating Maple River and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.

The Chargers won with a 208 and were followed by Maple River (216) and JWP (227).

The Maple River girls won the girls side of the meet with a 256, followed by MVL (258) and JWP (Inc.).

The medalist for the boys meet was JWP’s Jefferey Simonson, who shot a 39. MVL’s Philip Lukasek followed with a 44, while JWP’s Garrett Rienhardt took third with a 45 and JWP’s Noah Walters and MVL’s Jacksen Gerdts tied for fourth with a 46.

MVL’s Logan Paulsen took seventh (55), while MVL’s Colby Doering and Caleb Hunter tied for 10th with 63s. MVL’s final boys golfer was Sullivan Moldan, who turned in a 71 for 14th.

The girls meet saw JWP’s Rebecca Walters medal with a 44, while her teammate Kylie Walters shot a 55 for second. MVL’s Eden Grubbs took third with a 62, while MVL’s Kara Hinrichsen and Eden Isaksson tied for fourth with 65s. MVL’s Annika Lowrey shot a 66 for sixth, while teammates Scarlet Heldt and Emilee Fuhr shot 67s to tie for seventh.
