Boys state basketball brackets released
MINNEAPOLIS — The 2026 state boys basketball tournament brackets for Classes A, AA, AAA and AAAA were released on Tuesday.
In Class A, the first-round matchups put No. 8-seeded Upsala against No. 1-seeded Henning, while No. 5-seeded Hills-Beaver Creek takes on No. 4-seeded Southland. On the other side of the bracket, No. 7-seeded Cherry will play No. 2-seeded Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in the first round of Class A games also, while No. 6-seeded Liberty Classical Academy first plays No. 3-seeded Red Lake County. All first-round Class A games take place at Target Center on March 26, with the championship game scheduled for 11 a.m. March 28 at Williams Arena.
The Class AA state tournament begins March 24, with No. 8-seeded Perham taking on No. 1-seeded Goodhue and No. 5-seeded Albany playing No. 4-seeded Jackson County Central in first-round matchups at Target Center. On March 25, the other side of the bracket sees No. 7-seeded Blake taking on No. 2-seeded Pequot Lakes and No. 6-seeded Waseca playing No. 3-seeded Minnehaha Academy in first-round games at Williams Arena. The championship is scheduled for 5 p.m. March 28 at Williams Arena.
In the Class AAA state tournament, No. 8-seeded Minneapolis South takes on No. 1-seeded Totino-Grace and No. 5-seeded Mankato East plays No. 4-seeded Northfield in first-round matchups on March 25. The other side of the bracket sees No. 7-seeded Grand Rapids opening tournament play against No. 2-seeded DeLaSalle and No. 6-seeded Sartell playing No. 3-seeded Richfield. All first-round Class AAA games take place at Williams Arena, with the championship game scheduled for 1 p.m. March 28.
The Class AAAA state tournament, which begins March 24, will see No. 8-seeded Blaine take on No. 1-seeded Tartan and No. 5-seeded Chaska play No. 4-seeded Lakeville South. The other side of the first-round matchups pit No. 7-seeded Apple Valley against No. 2-seeded Wayzata and No. 6-seeded Alexandria Area against No. 3-seeded Maple Grove. All first-round Class AAAA games take place at Target Center, with the championship game taking place at 8 p.m. March 28 at Williams Arena.
