ST. PAUL – The Martin Luther Collehe women’s basketball team is coming off of a big week in which it defeated North Central 67-51 on the road Wednesday and Beat Northwestern at home 80-71 on Saturday.

Sophomore guard Wilhelmina Wenz was instrumental in both contests and, as a result, took home the UMAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor (Jan. 26-Feb. 1).

In MLC’s win over the Rams, Wenz scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Wenz followed that performance with a double-double (21 points, 17 rebounds) against the Eagles. Wenz shot over 40 percent from the floor in the two contests.

Wenz currently leads all UMAC players in rebounds per game (10.5). The Knights will be on the court again on Wednesday evening in Mankato against Bethany.
