NEW ULM — New Ulm cruised by Marshall 131.575-116.775 in a Big South Conference prep gymnastics meet on Thursday.

Sophia Berger led the meet in all around score with a 33.125, taking first on the floor (8.65) and placing second on bars (7.475), and beam (8.35) fourth in vault (8.65). Avarey Sellner placed seventh all around (25.425), taking second on the floor (8.575), third on beam (8.325) and fifth in vault (8.525). Matilda Klawitter won the vault (8.9) and placed fourth on beam (8.2) and fifth on the floor (8.075), while Karli Schwab placed second in vault (8.85). Aubrey Romsdahl won on bars (7.7) and placed fourth on the floor (8.325) and fifth on beam (8.1), and Alaina Blomberg took first on beam (8.6), third on the floor (8.35) and fourth on bars (7.15).

BOYS BASKETBALL

New Ulm 89, Jordan 52

JORDAN — New Ulm rolled Jordan 89-52 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Thursday.

Levi Hopp led the Eagles with 23 points, while Joey Wise had 13 points and Owen Castleman had 11 points.

New Ulm (8-9) hosts Worthington on Friday.

Sleepy Eye 60,

Cedar Mountain 56

MORGAN — Sleepy Eye defeated Cedar Mountain 60-56 in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Thursday.

Eric Lozano led the Indians with 26 points and six rebounds, while Braylon Nelson had 18 points and seven rebounds. Brayden Heiderscheidt had 10 points and four assists.

Thomas Dahmes led the Cougars with 24 points and five rebounds, while Carson Schiller had 15 points and nine rebounds. Blake Koerner added 8 points and six rebounds.

Sleepy Eye (11-7, 6-7) plays at Madelia on Monday, while Cedar Mountain (1-14, 1-9) plays at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield rolled Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 84-45 in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Thursday.

Bryan Buerkle led the Tigers with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Madden Lendt had 15 points, six rebounds and four assists. Parker Kuehn had 14 points, while Dylan Simonson had 13 points.

No statistics were reported for GFW.

Springfield (14-3, 11-1) plays at Lester Prairie on Friday, while GFW (10-7, 7-3) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.

WINTHROP — Cedar Mountain cruised by Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 75-39 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Thursday.

Kendra Erickson led the Cougars with 30 points, nine rebounds and two assists, while Aubrey Steffl had 24 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists. Kendra Lueck added 12 points, nine rebounds and four steals.

Brynn Caspers led the Firebirds with 11 points, while Kaydence Tutz had 8 points and Kinley Bruns had 7 points.

Cedar Mountain (14-2, 9-1) play at Sleepy Eye on Friday, while GFW (3-15, 1-11) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Thursday.

SPRINGFIELD — Nicollet downed Springfield 62-44 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Thursday.

Jazmyn Goettlicher led the Raiders with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Cheyenne Klockziem had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Chloe Kachelmeier added 15 points for Nicollet.

Jada Reese and Olivia Milbrath each had 15 points for the Tigers.

Nicollet (13-6) hosts Martin County West on Friday, while Springfield (7-11) plays at Lester Prairie on Friday.

Maggie Joyce had 18 points and four assists for the Eagles, while Riley Wilson had 14 points and five rebounds. Brooklyn Lewis added 13 points and five rebounds for New Ulm.

Jayde Altermatt led the Greyhounds with 20 points, while Shay Wilfahrt had 12 points.
